On the 60th anniversary of the death of Antonio Ligabue, Tuesday, May 27 at 4 p.m., the Balearic Hall of the Municipality of Pisa will host a conference open to the public to present the life and work of the great artist. On this occasion the opening of the exhibition celebrating the genius of Ligabue will be held at the Republican Arsenals of Pisa from 26 December 2025.
The conference, in addition to the official communication of the exhibition, will offer the public a valuable opportunity to rediscover the expressive power and the inner world of an artist who has been able to speak with a unique and universal voice. The narration will tell the human and creative parable of Ligabue, highlighting its extraordinary proximity to the great protagonists of European Expressionism.
The event is promoted by the Augusto Agosta Tota Foundation for Antonio Ligabue, in collaboration with Beside Arts and ARTIKA and with the sponsorship of the City of Pisa. The protagonist of the day will be the curator of the exhibition Mario Alessandro Fiori, general secretary of the Foundation and a deep connoisseur of the master’s work. The event will be attended by the Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Pisa, Filippo Bedini and Daniel Buso from ARTIKA.
